Annual Sports Day:
The proverb “All works and no play makes Jack a dull boy” highlighting the importance of playful activities in our life. Annual sports day is a great event in the school. It brings significant change in attitude of the students. It enhances their attitude towards long term and sustainable certain personal characteristics representing the opponent, responsibility, persistence and self discipline. The sports teacher helps and encourages the students to participate in the Annual sports Day function. The students participate with great spirit in drill, cultural activities and various competitive sports activities i.e. flat race, hurdle race, long race, relay race, sack and spoon race, high jump and long jump, discuss and jumbling throw, technique to insert thread into needle etc. The participating students display their ability through these events.
Sports help improve both physical and mental strength to be remains fit and healthy. The students learn to accept both victories and defeat with grace. They gain self-confidence and team spirit which they carry along their lives. Sports makes the students labor hard.
Through sports, they know their skills, qualities, will power and inner strengths. They learn how to respond to the things they can and can’t control. They learn social skill – cooperation, negotiation and conflict resolution.
Sports give the opportunity to present their passion and see where their potential is. It gives a Chance to really see and understand who they are and what they are capable of, inculcating the saying “Winners win, winner lose, but winners play.”
